At the race, all well-prepared runners can participate if they accept the information provided in the event details and meet the registration requirements.

Wheelchair users or handbike racers who complete the distance under their own power can start from the front of the field. They will start 30 seconds ahead of the main field with a motorcycle escort. They will be accompanied by a leading motorcycle and can leave the field after passing the designated point once the route is finalized. If they complete the distance with assistance, they can start from the designated start zone according to their planned pace.

All participants must wear the race number visibly and fully on the front, even when wearing a top. The use of triathlon-style race number fasteners is allowed.

A 10-minute time penalty can be given to a participant who folds or obscures their race number or fails to wear it clearly during the race.

If an individual participant is also the first member of a team (pair or trio), they do not need to wear the individual race number with an index assigned to the team.

A participant may be disqualified if they repeatedly violate the race number wearing rule despite warnings, fail to complete the full course designated by the organizers, provide inaccurate or incomplete information on the registration form, or misuse the timing chip.

For their own safety and the safety of fellow runners, it is not recommended for participants to listen to music or use any other audio player simultaneously in both ears during the race. There are cyclists and motorcycle organizers working within the field, as well as medical teams if needed. Wearing headphones can block out external sounds, potentially hindering communication with fellow runners, organizers, and medical staff.

Inline skating, cycling, running without a race number, and running with a dog are prohibited during the race. Participants who run with a cyclist or inline skater escort can be disqualified from the race.

We do not take responsibility for the safekeeping of personal belongings at the event venue.

Any commercial or advertising activities at the event venue are subject to prior approval and must be conducted in accordance with the guidelines and arrangements agreed upon by BSI.

BSI reserves the right, for organizational reasons, to limit the number of participants and close registration at any time.

BSI reserves the right to modify the route, program, and schedule of the event.

  • Free parking at Lurdy Ház parking lot, from there take tram 1 across Rákóczi Bridge for 2 stops (Infopark stop), and then walk approximately 500 meters to the competition center.

We will establish the competition center in the northern block of ELTE Lágymányosi Campus.

The entrance will be on the side facing Pázmány Péter Promenade, and the exit will be on the southern side of the building.

  • On September 10th, between 6:00 and 7:30

You will be allowed to enter the bib pick-up tables when one of the tables becomes available. The bib distribution tables are not organized by bib numbers; you can queue up at any available table. It is IMPORTANT to know your bib number when you line up at the tables.

If you don’t know your bib number, you can search for your name in the starting list under the appropriate distance, and your bib number will appear.

Relay teams will receive two types of race numbers.

INDIVIDUAL race number: This will display the team’s race number with the team member’s index framed behind it. This race number must be worn visibly on the front throughout the race. If the team’s first member also completes the distance individually, they do not need to wear this race number.

RELAY race number: This will display the team’s race number and will also have the timing chip placed on it (on the back of the race number). The current team member participating in the race must wear this race number around their waist, on the back. We will provide a race number holder belt. The relay race number should be exchanged during the relay handover.

Please note that specific instructions and details regarding race number pick-up and procedures will be provided closer to the event.

Changing Rooms: The men’s changing room will be located in the southern block of the ELTE Lágymányosi Campus. The entrance will be through the doors on the side of the building closer to the Danube. The women’s changing room will also be in the same building. The entrance will be through the doors on the side of the building farther from the Danube.

For relay participants, dressing facilities will be provided at the exchange points, but there will be no cloakroom available.

Cloakroom: The cloakroom tents can be found by turning right from the exit of the race center and proceeding about 200 meters to the grassy area. Inside the tents, there will be designated areas based on ranges of bib numbers, which will be indicated with signs. There is no wardrobe ribbon on the individual starting numbers. When depositing their bags, team members will receive a wristband with a number matching the label number affixed by BSI wardrobe staff to the deposited bag. Upon retrieving the bag, the wristband will be removed from their wrist, so only the participant with the wristband on their wrist can collect their bag from the wardrobe.

Opening Hours:

  • Drop-off: between 6:00 and 7:30
  • Pick-up: between 9:15 and 11:30

Please note that the cloakroom does not provide storage for valuables.

Bicycle Storage: Bicycle storage will be set up on the riverside of the southern block of the ELTE Lágymányosi Campus.

Toilets: The toilets in the basement near the men’s and women’s changing rooms can be used. Mobile toilets will be available near the changing rooms as well as near the start/finish area. Mobile urinals will also be provided for men. Along the route, you will find mobile toilets at the refreshment stations and the exchange point. Mobile urinals will also be available for men.

There is a dressing area available at the relay points; however, we are unable to provide a cloakroom.

Participants will be assigned to start zones based on their planned pace (minutes per kilometer). This arrangement aims to reduce congestion and unnecessary overtaking during the early kilometers of the race. Starting from the appropriate zone corresponding to their planned pace will result in a smoother and more predictable start. The allocation to start zones will be indicated by an adhesive label on the race bib, which will be checked upon entry to the zone. The number on the label corresponds to the zone number.

If a participant has not provided a planned pace, they can request a start zone sticker at the race center before the start. Without a start zone sticker, they can only enter the last start zone.

The flag indicating the time zone will always be positioned at the end of the respective zone. Therefore, participants should position themselves toward the start gate from where the time zone ends. After entering the zone, proceed toward the start gate to allow other participants to enter the zone behind you. The gates to the start zones will open 20 minutes before the start and close 5 minutes before the start. Afterward, participants can only enter the back of the field.

Start Zones:

  • Zone 1: Pace faster than 4:30 min/km – Half marathon within 1:35:00
  • Zone 2: Pace between 4:30 and 5:00 min/km – Half marathon between 1:35:00 and 1:45:00
  • Zone 3: Pace between 5:00 and 5:30 min/km – Half marathon between 1:45:00 and 1:56:00
  • Zone 4: Pace between 5:30 and 6:00 min/km – Half marathon between 1:56:00 and 2:06:00
  • Zone 5: Pace between 6:00 and 6:30 min/km – Half marathon between 2:06:00 and 2:17:00
  • Zone 6: Pace slower than 6:30 min/km – Half marathon slower than 2:17:00

If you encounter a participant in your start zone without the appropriate zone sticker, kindly advise them to select the start zone corresponding to their planned pace to avoid congestion and potential accidents.

For participants using manual wheelchairs and handbikes who complete the distance under their own power, they will start 1 minute ahead of the main field. They should position themselves at the start gate no later than 5 minutes before the start. They will be accompanied by a lead motorcycle, which they can pass once they have left the designated point after finalizing the route.

Staggered Start:

The half marathon participants will be started in multiple waves. At the front of each wave, there will be race marshals who will guide the participants to the start line. Once at the start line, a 1 minute and 15 seconds countdown will be given before starting the wave. The same procedure will be followed for the subsequent waves.

The start gates will not be opened between the waves.

Any equipment left in the start zone will be collected immediately after the start and donated to the Hungarian Red Cross for charitable purposes.

RELAY EXCHANGE:

It is mandatory to wear the relay team member’s race number around your waist during your run.

As you approach the exchange point and the finish line, turn it to the front!

Things to know about the relay exchange:

At the exchange point, you will need to hand over the relay race number, worn around your waist using a race number holder belt, to the next team member in the designated exchange zone. The relay race number should only be carried in hand within the exchange zone. The next team member must place it around their waist before leaving the exchange zone. After the exchange, the runner who has completed their leg of the race will receive their package and can refresh themselves. Changing facilities will be provided at the exchange points. Each participant is responsible for their own access to the exchange point.

EXCHANGE POINTS:

If weather conditions warrant, additional temporary water stations will be set up along the route.

Individual refreshment delivery is not possible.

At the designated refreshment stations along the route, several 1-cubic-meter collection containers will be placed, primarily for collecting empty cups. You will find these containers on both sides of the route after the last refreshment table. The last container will be placed 50 meters after the end of the station, and this will also be indicated with a separate sign. Please dispose of any waste from the refreshment station that you brought with you into this container at the latest! Please do not litter any waste generated along the route; instead, place it in the containers provided at the refreshment stations. We will place selective waste collection containers suitable for recycling at the refreshment stations and throughout the entire event area. The containers will be labeled to indicate the type of waste that should be disposed of in them.

Useful information: At the refreshment stations, we can only hand out cup refreshments to the front and back of the field. When runners arrive in large numbers, you will need to take your drink. The refreshment stations often pose the greatest challenge. Do not try to squeeze between two runners for a quick drink or food. Please observe basic etiquette during the race, wait for your turn, and remember that there are often fewer people at the distant end. Do not take more than you need, as there are likely many runners behind you who may need the refreshments even more. After reaching the finish line, you can collect your medal first, then your finisher’s package. At the start/finish area, you can refresh with water at the tap stands.

The cut-off time is 3 hours net time, aligned with the start time of the last wave.

The field is followed by a closing bus maintaining a pace of 3:00 per kilometer. Those who are overtaken by the closing bus must board it. Their race bib will be crossed out, and they are not allowed to enter the finish area.

The timing services provider is AGNI-Timing.

Timing is done using UHF chips attached to the back of the RELAY race number.

To ensure accurate recording of team times, please follow the rules below:

  • Relay team members will receive the chip attached to the rubberized RELAY race number, which should be worn around the waist. The chip should be handed over to the next runner during the exchange.
  • Individual race numbers must be worn visibly throughout the race on the abdomen/chest area.
  • Do not remove, fold, or puncture the chip placed on the back of the RELAY race number.
  • Make sure to wear your own race number during the race.
  • After crossing the finish line, please leave the timing area as soon as possible.

At the Laufenn Trio Half Marathon, we will evaluate the 1st to 3rd place teams (male, female, and mixed categories for the mixed trios).

The awards ceremony will be based on the order of arrival at the finish line (gross time). The results on the website may show different rankings based on net time.

after you finished

The results are continuously updated in the results list after crossing the finish line. Participants who do not have recorded times at any of the route checkpoints are listed in the results without a placement number. Participants who received a 10-minute time penalty for irregular bib number wearing are marked with an asterisk (*) next to their name.
